We strongly suggest going by bike downtown and along the boardwalks.

Definitely rent a car so that you can get to all the amazing attractions and things to do in the wilderness that surround CDA. The hikes, the beaches, the restaurants…..it will be worth it.

Citylink Transit, launched in 2005, is ok. It provides reliable, efficient, and free public bus service to Kootenai and Benewah counties in North Idaho. Citylink operates four routes, 16 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. The interconnecting network comprises over 150 stops, spread across 200 miles of road, and transports an average of 50,000 passengers per month. It is a bit long in between stops, but it works just great!
