COVID-19 Update for SCREENING, ATTENDANCE AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSE

CDA Adventures adopted these COVID-19 update recommendations to operate in a manner that protects the safety and health of fly-fishing guides, rafting guides, our families, clients, and reduces the possible transmission of COVID-19 to the general public. CDA Adventures will continue to follow and respect directives from the Idaho Governor’s office relating to guides and outfitters permitted to offer guiding services. These guidelines are offered as best management practices for guides and outfitters to follow.

All of our trips have COVID19 reduction and exposure plans.

What sanitary precautions is CDA Adventures taking during whitewater and fishing trips?

We wanted to give you an update below on the status of our procedures during the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. The official ID State website has current updated information on Idaho’s recommendations for residents and visitors.

Our company will continue to do our part to keep a healthy, clean, environment for staff and clients in the management and mitigation of the pandemic and into future seasons from now on in the post covid19 world.

Many of our trips take place in open-air nature, where space, wind, sun, heat, and fresh air all work in our favor in terms of reducing the risk of contagion from Coronavirus. On our rafting and fishing adventures, we have always had hygiene procedures in place that follow best-practices via the Outfitters Association and NRS, including:

  • A thorough orientation talk about trip safety and hygiene given pre-rafting and fishing trip
  • Online waivers/paperwork/Online reservations only
  • Careful food preparation guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)
  • Careful clean-up procedures including washing dishes in a 3-step phase of hot water wash, hot water rinse with Clorox and final cold-water rinse.  
  • Hand wash and disinfectant station at our river shop.
  • Regular cleaning of water faucet areas and flat surfaces.

We are now adding these additional procedures into the future:

  • Masks available for staff and clients.
  • Employees wear masks in addition to gloves when fixing and serving food.
  • Hand sanitizer stationed at changing rooms at river shop and on trips
  • Staff screening upon arrival to work
  • More frequent cleaning of flat surfaces such as shuttle van and serving tables and other locations where community contamination may occur
  • Interior sanitizing of all vehicles.
  • Masks worn by staff and participants in vehicles or small spaces
  • Cleaning and decontamination of boat and transportation vehicles between trips
  • Discuss the safety protocols with clients while stressing the serious nature and need for adherence to policies to protect themselves and others and reduce spread of covid19
  • All clients and guides will need to self-certify that they are asymptomatic prior to trip. If at any time during the trip the client or guide exhibits symptoms, the trip will be forced to conclude and the symptomatic individual will need to seek clearance from a healthcare provider.
  • Require all occupants of vehicle to wash hands prior to departure.
  • Discuss the need for limiting unnecessary touching of items within a vehicle to keep possible contamination to a minimum
  • Maintain 6 feet of distance when possible.
  • Shuttle operators will follow vehicle cleaning guidelines prior to operating shuttle and upon completion of shuttle.

What screening and preventative measures is CDA Adventures taking?

We reserve the right to decline service to a guest if we have reason to believe that you have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 within the 14 days prior to your scheduled trip or, if you develop flu-like symptoms (a fever, cough, and shortness of breath) during the 14 days prior to your scheduled trip. 

We will remove any scheduled staff member if we have reason to believe that they have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 within the 14 days prior to a scheduled trip or, if they develop flu-like symptoms (a fever, cough, and shortness of breath) during the 14 days prior to a scheduled trip. 

Questions for clients: In the last 2 weeks, have you experienced:

• Fever > 100.0 F • Cough • Sore Throat • Sinus Congestion, Nasal Discharge, or Runny Nose • Body Aches • Shortness of Breath • Ear Pain • Diarrhea • Headache • Itchy eyes, eye discharge, or “pink eye” • Sick people in your household • Exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 individual

If an individual answer “yes” to one or more of the listed questions, your trip should be cancelled or rescheduled unless cleared by your healthcare provider that you do not have COVID-19.

Since our knowledge of the Coronavirus and COVID-19 are evolving constantly, we will update protocols as necessary.

What if I am showing symptoms of, or have been diagnosed with COVID19 within 3 weeks of the trip, or have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19? 

In the event of either of these circumstances, we offer two choices.  A full credit for you in our system to use the following or subsequent years of the monies paid for a trip to be taken, or a refund of monies paid less our reservation and cc fee.
