Combo Fishing and Whitewater Adventure

Private Guided Boat and Combo Fishing and Whitewater Adventure

Options: Trip for Single Anglers and Families

(35 min. west of Missoula, 2 hr. drive east from Coeur d’Alene, April-Nov.) *FEATURED GEM ID/MT TRIP

This is our company’s world class feature fishing and rafting trip and we are one of the few who offer it. The meeting point and put in for the combo trip is just off I-90 over the border in Montana, a direct two hour drive from downtown Coeur d’Alene and is worth every second of the drive. It’s beautiful and there is a great campground at Fish Creek State Park to stay at with the family if desired. Our staff can point you in the direction of where to eat and where to stay while pursuing this adventure. Many people simply make the drive and then head back to the CDA area the same day or incorporate it into their travels to Glacier National Park or through Montana.

Come take a guided fly or spin fishing trip AND whitewater adventure with us. Our customers frequently say that the Combo Fishing and Whitewater Adventure is the most exciting day they have ever had on a fishing/rafting trip. This is arguably the best scenic stretch of river in the Northwest #1 day trip for families. Most of the bigger fish in the river hold up in the pools at the bottom of the rapids so you never know what you might catch. You will have to wear a high flotation vest through class II and III rapids and all the gear gets put away for Triple Bridges, Tumbleweed, and Fang rapids but you can cast away on everything else!

Base price is $575 for one or two anglers and an option to add three more guests at $75 per boat guest up to a family of 5 maximum. For example, we have a variety of small and large boat center frame set ups to accommodate 2 fishing anglers together or will rig it up for a family of 4 or 5. Please book this trip early as we have few seasoned guides who work this trip. Trip time runs 6-8 hours as a private trip, Full Day affair with a catered riverside lunch! We catch pike, rainbow, cutthroat, and bull trout. You will be fishing most of the day with stops for the adventurous to swim, cliff jump, wade fish, or take a beach-side break.

Base Price: 1 -2 person $575, each additional boat participant: $75 (max: 5 ppl)

WHAT TO EXPECT

Upon booking the Combo Fishing and Whitewater Adventure fishing trip, we will reserve your guide and boat for your or your group. This is a PRIVATE boat departing as a single from our raft shop on the Clark Fork River. Typically, the Combo trips depart at either 8 or 9am and wrap up around 3 or 4pm. Our shop is located at Cyr Exit and Recreation Area, MT (Exit 70 off of I-90 about 30 minutes west of Missoula). Exact Address: 39 Juniper Lane, Alberton MT 59820. There is a time change from Pacific to Mountain Time and we will help you get to the shop for check in on time. We ask that families check in 30 minutes prior to trip departure with their guide.

We watch river conditions, snow melt, river speed, as well as recent fishing successes and will consider the time constraints of your party. The Combo Trip is offered on the Alberton Gorge section of the Clark Fork River 90% of the time. We combo fish the Blackfoot River in the spring when the Clark Fork is too high and not productive fishing-wise.  Our guides and support crew will work hard to put you on quality wild trout and insure that your experience on the river is a positive one. We suggest ages 6 and up in spring and can accommodate a four or five year old, depending on their personal stamina level in August or September.

A catered, homemade riverside lunch, water, and soft drinks are included. Your guide will supply all of the gear, poles, rods, basic flies, and specialty flies unique to our rivers. A Montana fishing license is required.

Participants frequently see eagles, hawks, deer, river animals, and other wildlife.

Our guides are trained to teach well so experience is not necessary. We encourage you to obtain a Montana Fishing license in advance of your days fishing but as a last resort we can help you obtain a license online at our shop. Waders are not needed unless you want to get out of the boat and wade fish, please let us know. The Clark Fork is huge and this stretch is best accessed by boat.

There are more miles of Wild Trout rivers right here in Montana than any of the other lower 48 states by far. This provides a great set of options to make this private fishing trip a success.

Bring a camera, jacket, hat, and sunglasses. The boat has lots of storage so you are welcome to bring extra clothes and gear as desired. Special accommodations can be made for dietary or other needs. Please let us know well in advance of your reserved fishing day any details we need to know. We will see you on the river! Happy Adventuring!
